cooler weather. We started with Walnut Canyon, sunshine
and blue skys to tall pine trees, ferns and dark clouds and rain.
Top of the canyon, 240 steps to go until we get
back to the top.
Dwelling across the canyon on the far wall.
One of the local residents of the canyon.
How does a tree grow right out of solid rock............ amazing!!
This was the living room of this dwelling.
More ruins on the other side of the canyon.
Steps, Steps and more Steps. Nate does this
remind you of anything???
Half way out, only 120 steps to go.
Last 50 steps!!! From sunny and blue skies to Snow Bowl
road with wind and rain. It sure did smell good.
Snow Bowl Lodge with no snow.
Looking up the chair lift line to the top.
Next stop, 11,500 feet, highest spot in AZ.
Tried to get a picture of the trees growing under the deck
of the midway chair lift landing. The signs were kind of
interesting, "Don't let poles drag" and " Keep tips up".
They loose their meaning without all the snow.
We tried to take a picture of ourselves, I know it is not the best, Ben and Caitlin seem to have a talent for taking
these kinds of shots. Wish you would have been with us.
Highest peaks in Arizona, Mt. Agaizz and Mt. Humphreys.
Top of Arizona!!!Mother Nature in all her glory!
Going up the chair lift we were in the sunshine with no
coats and coming down we got caught in the rain.
We went down into Hart Prairie next and the ferns at least 3 to 4 feet tall. We were looking for the tree
that David carved our names in many, many years ago.
It was there last year, but so many tree have fallen down
that we could not find it.
This is why we love to go up to the San Francisco Peaks.
